Public Employees Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI)

Participation in the PERSI Base Plan (pension) is required for all employees who are scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week for more than 5 months per year.  The employee contribution for general employees is 6.23% and is deducted from each paycheck.  The employer contribution for general employees is 10.39%.  The employee contribution for law enforcement employees is 7.69% and is deducted from each paycheck.  The employer contribution for law enforcement employees is 10.73%.  

The PERSI Choice Plan 401(k) is an optional defined contribution retirement savings plan.  Participation is voluntary and allows the employee to contribute a portion of his/her salary on a tax-deferred basis via payroll deduction.

PERSI also offers death and disability benefits.

Medical & Dental Benefits 

Medical and dental benefits are provided for employees, their spouse and dependents at a nominal cost to the employee.  Premiums are deducted from the employee’s paycheck on a pre-tax basis.

Vacation & Sick Leave 

Vacation accrues as follows:

0 through 60 months – 10 days/year – 80 hours

61 thru 120 months – 15 days/year – 120 hours

121 months or more – 20 days/year – 160 hours

Sick time accrues as follows:

1 workday per month

Accruals for EMS is different.  Please refer to EMS policy manual.

Holidays 

10 recognized holidays per year

Sick Leave Bank 

Participation in the sick leave bank is voluntary.  To participate, an employee must make a one-time contribution of 8 hours of their sick leave to the bank.  The employee is then eligible to request up to 176 hours of leave per year from the sick bank if certain criteria are met.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 

This confidential counseling program is available at no cost to the employee.  It is available to the employee, any dependent, or anyone living in the employee’s home.

Group Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) 

Benefits are provided by the County at no cost to the employee.  The life benefit is one times the employee’s annual salary; the AD&D benefit is in addition to the life benefit and is also one times the employee’s annual salary.

Optional Insurance Policies 

Other insurance policies (accident, disability, cancer, etc) are available on a pre- or post-tax basis through various vendors.

Deputy Sheriff Patrol - Lateral

Telecommunications Specialist

LPN, Sheriff's Office-This is a fulltime, benefited position as a Correctional Health Care professional.  If you are self-confident, self-motivated and a strong team player with a current Idaho license, this may be the position for you. Successful passage of drug screen and background investigation will be completed prior to employment. You will work with a highly trained professional staff at the Bonner County Adult Jail. Salary range is competitive and negotiable depending on experience. Corrections experience preferred but not required. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m., February 8, 2012.
