About The Fair Board
The Bonner County Fairboard is comprised of 7 people who bring a diversity of skills, talents and professional experiences together for the common purpose: to provide a free educational opportunity for the residents of Bonner County to display (for competition) ideas/articles from their areas of expertise and interest, as well as allowing local organizations and businesses an opportunity to present their products to the public. Our Mission statement "Promote the agricultural heritage and future of the county by providing opportunities for education and entertainment, while preserving rural traditions". The members meet monthly on a regular basis to decide policy and make sound, knowledgeable decisions about the Fairgrounds and the business of the Fair. Members are appointed by the County Commissioners and serve 4-year terms, without pay. Terms are renewable, at the will of the Commissioners. The Fairboard assists the Fair Manager in setting budget, makes decisions on personnel, facility improvements, safety issues, building rentals and fair entertainment. A main concern with the Fairboard is to ensure that the fair and fairgrounds always reflect the educational and entertainment requirements and interests of our growing community.

The Bonner County Fair provides clean, old-fashion, wholesome entertainment, which in turn provides fun for each member of any family. It affords an opportunity to reminisce about old times and to make new friends. The exhibits promote friendly rivalry among those who participate and make others want to participate.
In 2010 we will introduce several new contests and activities. The theme is "Fiesta at the Fair". We will open pre-fair by kicking off with the Bonner County Rodeo on Friday, August 20th and Saturday, August 21st. Both performances will start at 7:00pm. Grand entry will introduce Miss Bonner County Rodeo 2010 Liz Pitts and Miss Teen Bonner County Rodeo 2010 Savannah Pitts. We will provide local barrel racing and muttin bustin' for your enjoyment. On Sunday, August 22nd, you may enter your static exhibits from 1:00pm-7:30pm and again on Monday, August 23rd from 7:30am-12:00 noon. Fair will begin Tuesday, August 24th through Saturday, August 28th. Tickets are available at Panhandle State Bank, Sandpoint Super Drug, Les Schwab Tire Center and the Fair Office.
One of the Fair Board member's main objectives is to help rural youth-those who are involved in 4-H and other youth organisations. Bonner County Fair provides a place to "showcase" their animals or products to compare them, to compete in the selling of them, and in the process, build character and prepare these same youngsters to become the adult leaders for the future.
The Bonner County Fair is successful due to the volunteers, sponsors, merchants and local government. Without citizens in our community, the fairgrounds would not be the beautiful facility it is today. The Fairboard and Fairground's staff appreciates all the assistance, love and loyalty given. The Bonner County Fair is where Memories are made. A time for reunion and reflection in an atmosphere where past meets present.
We remain to stay true to our mission statement "Promote the agricultural heritage and future of the county by providing opportunity for education and entertainment, while preserving rural traditions".
