The County Clerk is the chief elections officer for the entire county. The following items are resources for your use to facilitate exercising your right to vote.

Candidates Corner

PETITIONS OF CANDIDACY - Require 8 1/2 x 14" paper and the ability to open and print a pdf file.

Prior to printing make sure you choose "print to pdf scale" on the print format screen

  They are also available from the Office of the Bonner County Administrative Offices located at 1500 Hwy 2, Suite 337 in Sandpoint.  Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am until 5 pm, excluding Holidays.

2010 FILING TIME FRAME

Beginning at 9 am on March 8 until not later than 5 pm on March 19, 2010 - weekends are excluded

Petitions should first be presented to the Clerk's Office for certification of the signatures of each person signing the petition;  after certification the petition should be presented to the election staff in the Clerk's Office, both are  located at:

1500 Highway 2, Suite 337 (third floor) - Sandpoint, Idaho 83864

Party Affiliated - Petition of Candidacy

    Requires either a $40.00 filing fee or the presentation of not less than 5 nor more than 10 signatures of Bonner County registered voters.  If the filer is a candidate for a county commission position, the petition signers must reside within the boundaries of the district s/he hopes to represent.

Independent - (No Party Affiliation) - Petition of Candidacy

    Must present the signatures of not less than 5 nor more than 10 Bonner County registered voters.  If the filer is a candidate for a county commission position, the petition signers must reside within the boundaries of the district s/he hopes to represent.

Declaration of Intent to be a Write-In Candidate

    Declarations of Intent are to be filed not later than fourteen (14) days before the Primary or General election with the Secretary of State if for a Federal, Statewide or Legislative District Office or with the County Clerk if for a County Office.
